Community law to boost quality of life in Dubai

Community Development Authority is responsible for organising and regulating the licensing process for providers of social services, social workers and organising voluntary work for individuals and groups.

Dubai – A new law governing the Community Development Authority (CDA) in Dubai will regulate the social service sector and ensure more empowerment of the youth and other vulnerable groups.

According to the new law issued by His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and the Ruler of Dubai, CDA is responsible for organising and regulating the licensing process for providers of social services, social workers and organising voluntary work for individuals and groups.

The law aims to enhance the quality of life in Dubai, by organising and reinforcing community development, empowering the vulnerable groups including senior citizens, people with special needs, underprivileged, juveniles and delinquent and help them reach higher levels of self-dependency. The law contributes to providing social services for the targeted segments and boost innovation and development capabilities in the social service sector and overseeing fulfillment of social services goals in Dubai.
